ATTLAS

ATTLAS is an integrated mobile targetry system that emulates enemy vehicle movement patterns and visual, thermal, and other signatures, providing a unique realism to armoured, aviation and dismounted infantry warfighters’ combat preparedness training. This enhanced live-fire training realism improves combat effectiveness, lethality, and survivability of platforms and people.

Maneuverable Range Integration Solution

ATTLAS can be maneuvered within existing range templates, and around existing range targetry such as static targets, pop up targets, and even rail systems, and requires zero changes to existing live fire range infrastructure.

Advanced Maneuverable Uncrewed Ground Vehicle System

The ATTLAS system comprises three core components and several optional enhancements:

  • ATTLAS Uncrewed Ground Vehicle (UGV). A battery-powered, autonomous tractor that operates at speeds up to and over 40kms/hr (25 miles/hr) across all terrains, a unique global performance attribute. The tractor can be operated in either autonomous mode or remote-control mode.
  • ATTLAS trailer. Carries the target behind the tractor.
  • RAIDERFluteTM Targets. 2D and 3D full-scale vehicle replicas, including main battle tanks, armoured/infantry fighting vehicles, logistics trucks, and enemy helicopters. Utilising RAIDERFlute technology, these targets are laser printed on corrugated polypropylene (Corflute®), laser cut to shape, and assembled, creating a globally unique targetry product.

Targets can be:

  • Mounted on the trailer for full mobility
  • Stand-alone static targets
  • Decoys
  • Attached to pop-up lifters to emulate enemy vehicles ‘cresting’ terrain

Targets can be engaged by:

  • Dismounted infantry with weapons of any caliber ammunition up to and including anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), including: 7.62mm, .50 cal, Javelin and Spike
  • Single or multiple vehicle platforms such as main battle tank (MBT), infantry fighting vehicle (IFV), including: Challenger Main Battle Tank (120mm) and Rheinmetall Boxer Combat reconnaissance Vehicle (CRV) (30mm)
  • Artillery
  • Aviation platforms for example armed attack or reconnaissance helicopter including: Apache firing Hellfire and 30mm

Easy Assembly

The ATTLAS integrated mobile targetry system offers unique realism in a fully deployable package that is quick and easy to assemble.

Realism - for decades, defense forces globally have been live fire training against static targets that bear no resemblance at all to enemy vehicles. This can degrade training performance, lethality, and warfighters’ preparedness for operations in contested environments. RAIDER Targetry has harnessed UGV technology to create an innovative, hyper-realistic integrated targetry system that emulates enemy vehicles signatures and movement, enhancing live-fire training, and improving combat effectiveness, lethality, and survivability. The Australian Defence Force (ADF) has utilized 15 Raider Targetry Mobile Moving Target Systems (MMTS) since 2018. The British Army, Republic of Singapore Armed Forces, Rheinmetall, and Electro Optic Systems (EOS) Defence have all used RAIDER targetry systems for live fire training and T&E. Quick and easy to assemble - the ATTLAS system can be assembled by 2 people in less than 2 hours for quick, easy set up and operation. Deployable - military units are increasingly deployed away from their home base, training and operating in forward locations, often internationally, for example Western Europe. Combat preparedness training in forward locations can be unnecessarily degraded with sub-optimal and unrealistic training scenarios. The complete ATTLAS integrated mobile targetry system is fully deployable in a single, standard, 20-foot ISO shipping container, making the system deployable domestically and internationally by road, rail, or sea. RAIDER provides a fully customized (internally) 20-foot ISO shipping container with each pair of ATTLAS systems. The system can also be palletized for air freight. Any unit, for example an Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT) can deploy with their own ATTLAS integrated mobile targetry systems which can be up and running on an authorized range within 2 hours of arrival in the forward location.
